APT-style exercises
Simulation of advanced persistent threats to measure how your organisation holds up against the most sophisticated scenarios, in white box or black box.
- Duration
- From 100 execution hours
- Coordination
- Between 2 and 3 months ahead
- Model
- White box or black box
- Deliverable
- Technical and executive report with timeline
The problem
A pentest measures whether your systems can be broken. An APT exercise measures something else: whether your organisation notices, how long it takes and what it does about it. We simulate an adversary with time, resources and a specific objective.
What it includes
Social engineering attacks
A targeted phishing campaign is simulated: persuasive emails and messages seeking confidential information. It measures the team's security awareness and its resistance to digital deception.
Malware attacks
The resilience of defences against intrusion is assessed by replicating the tactics adversaries use to spread and execute code. The malware used causes no harm to the organisation.
Critical incident simulation
A large-scale exercise —a data breach or a targeted attack— to assess the ability to detect, contain and mitigate, and to coordinate the technical and communications response.
Timeline of events
The deliverable reconstructs what happened and when, highlighting the containment strategies applied and where valuable minutes were lost.
How we work
- 01DesignObjectives, ethical limits, scenarios and what is explicitly outside the exercise.
- 02PreparationOur own infrastructure, controlled artefacts and coordination with the few who must know.
- 03ExecutionCampaigns in waves, with a record of every action and a permanent emergency contact.
- 04DebriefingTimeline, lessons and improvement plan with your team.
Deliverables
| Document | Length |
|---|---|
| Executive report What happened and what it means for the business. | included |
| Technical report Detail of tactics, with a timeline. | included |
Every exercise is coordinated two to three months in advance depending on the requirement, and the hours to be used are defined by scope, starting from a minimum of 100. The tests are one hundred percent controlled between client and provider.
